NEBRASKA BANKERS ASSOCIATION 11 President’s Message — continued from page 7 Contact Richard J. Baier at (402) 474-1555 or richard.baier@nebankers.org . the Bank On Nebraska Challenge. As you will recall, in Febru- ary, the NBA challenged Nebraska students to submit videos of up to 60 seconds in length showcasing the importance of the student’s NBA-member bank to their respective families and communities. More than 160 videos were submitted, with 125 entries qualifying for the competition. A diverse group from the Young Bankers of Nebraska (YBON) Committee and the NBA Leader- ship Class of 2018 reviewed each of the videos and selected the five finalists. The public was then asked to vote for their favorite video. Each of the five finalists was awarded a new MacBook computer and a $529 contribution to the student’s college saving plan. The schools of the finalists also received $529 in classroom funding. Throughout the contest, the Bank On Nebraska website experienced more than 35,000 page views. In addition, more than 12,000 total votes were cast for the finalists. Congratula- tions to Wyatt Ehlers of Chambers Public Schools for being the grand prize winner. Wyatt’s video, which showcased Chambers State Bank, also received the top award in the category of “fun- niest video.” The NBA was extremely pleased with the passion, energy, and enthusiasm of all the Bank On Nebraska Challenge contestants. The NBA looks forward to engaging our next gen- eration of Nebraskans in fun and creative ways in the future. In the meantime, I would encourage you to go on the NBA YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/NebraskaBanker- sAssn to view the “Top 20 Submissions” in the NBA’s “Playlists.” Finally, I would be remiss if I did not take time this month to recognize and thank Joni Sundquist for her 20-plus years of service to the NBA, most recently serving as senior vice president of communications and external affairs. Joni recently accepted a new position as president/executive director of the Nebraska So- ciety of Certified Public Accountants. Throughout Joni’s tenure, the NBA’s communication andmarketing strategies have evolved substantially (she started before the NBA had a website). The NBA wishes Joni the best of luck in her new position. A search is now under way to select a new director of communications and marketing.  Since 1857, Cline Williams has devoted attention to the unique needs of the banking and nancial services industries.
