Attendees heard from fel- low bankers and a variety of speakers, who shared their own interpretation of how to “Put Our Best Foot Forward” for our com- munities and Nebraska banking. Leadership Transitions The Annual Convention marks the beginning of the new fiscal year for the NBA in addition to the turnover of leader- ship. Outgoing NBA Chairman Dave Dan- nehl, President & CEO, First State Bank of Loomis, passed the gavel to Generations Bank President & CEO Alan Emshoff, who will lead the association as the 2019 NBA Chairman. The board of directors also ap- proved the nomination of Nebraska Bank of Commerce President & CEO Chris Hove as NBA Chairman-Elect. Mainstreet Bank President & CEO Justin Douglas was also elected to join the NBA board of directors as an at-large representative. Banker Awards & Recognition Three bankers and one financial in- stitution were recognized during the as- sociation’s Milestone Awards Luncheon Thursday, May 2. Joyce Becker of First Tri- County Bank in Plymouth, and SusanDay of Heritage Bank of Loup City, each received the NBA’s 50-Year Banker Award; NBA and ABA Past Chairman C.G. “Kelly” Holthus of Cornerstone Bank in York, was recognized for 65 years of service to his community and Nebraska banking; and Commercial Bank of Nelson was recognized for 125 years of service to the Nelson community and state of Nebraska.  2019 NBA Convention: Putting Our Best Foot Forward
