July/August 2012 7 Extraordinary Service for Extraordinary Members. NBA Invests in Compliance Alliance Karen Miller , Senior Vice President, Nebraska Bankers Association I N AN EFFORT TO EASE THE GROWING COMPLIANCE AND regulatory burden banks face today, a group of 15 state bankers associations across the nation has teamed up to provide Compliance Alliance, a unique and innovative tool created exclusively for bankers by bankers. The Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, and Virginia Bankers Associations and the Illinois League of Financial Institu- tions have united to create the only compliance resource to be owned by state bankers associations. There’s more to Compliance Alliance’s uniqueness than its bankers association ownership, however. Compliance Al- liance offers services not available anywhere else, such as the Compliance Hotline. While most compliance resources are only available by phone or via an online forum, Compliance Alliance specialists are available by phone, email, and live chat. Another unique service is the All-Inclusive Guarantee. Compliance Alliance guarantees that once you havemade your subscription payment youwill never be asked for another dime for any existing or future productswithin the timeframe of your contract. In addition, there will never be a fee for speaking to a compliance specialist—no matter howmany calls you make or the amount of time the compliance specialist spends with you. Compliance Alliance is also unique in that member banks are providedanunlimitedamount of usernames andpasswords for the interactivewebsite, allowing anyone in your bank to use the products and services from Compliance Alliance. With the ever-increasing workload created by the Dodd- Frank Act, Compliance Alliance was developed to assist banks innavigating the expansionof compliance rules andregulations. Compliance Alliance currently provides more than 325 prod- ucts, including calculators, cheat sheets, check lists, cliff notes, enforcement actions, flowcharts, forms, handouts, matrices, policies, procedures, risk assessments, training tools, webinars, and worksheets, with new documents uploaded each day. The wide variety of resources allows each individual bank— nomatter the size of the bank or amount of time inbusiness—to customize a groupof documents specific to its needs. If youever need a document that is not available on the website, Compli- ance Alliance will create the document for you. 233 South 13th Street, Suite 700 Lincoln, NE 68508 Phone: (402) 474-1555 • Fax: (402) 474-2946 NBA Board of Directors NBA Editorial Staff George Beattie NBA President & CEO george.beattie@nebankers.org Joni Sundquist Vice President of Communications joni.sundquist@nebankers.org Clark D.
