On Jan. 2, 2015, both NBA President & CEOGeorge Beattie and Senior Vice President KarenMiller will retire after a combined 50- plus years of service to theNBA. Their leadership and dedication has helped transform the NBA into one of the premier trade associations in Nebraska and one of the most respected state bankers associations in America. I am personally honored to have been selected to succeed these fabulous leaders and to help position the Nebraska banking industry and the NBA for success in the future. To ensure a smooth transition upon George and Karen’s retirements, I am pleased to announce the promotion of both Ron Arrigo and Joni Sundquist to the position of senior vice president effective July 1, 2014. Ron has served the NBA since 1987 and Joni since 1997. Ron will maintain responsibility for education services, but also will assume oversight of daily of- fice operations. Ron’s new duties will include coordination and direction of the highly recognized NBA Leadership Program in cooperation with NBA Vice President Karen Yelden. In addition to continuing her marketing and communica- tions responsibilities, Joni will take on new duties that are primarily external to the organization, including the coordi- nation of activities relating to the NBA Board of Directors, the Nebraska Bankers Educational Foundation, and the University Foundation Allocation Committee; the implementation of an organizational social media strategy; and the enhanced promo- tion of the NBA’s effective government affairs activities. As part of this staff restructuring, Vice President of Admin- istration Karen Yelden will assume enhanced duties related to internal operations and facilities. Vice President of Government Relations Jennifer Heaton will assume oversight of the Com- pliance Alliance program and Regulatory Feedback Initiative. Vice President of Information Technology Sean Humphrey will continue to coordinate the NBA and NBISCO’s long-term technology strategy and to evaluate technological solutions that can enhance delivery of NBA products and services to the next generation of Nebraska bankers. Over the next several months, we will fill two newly created staff support positions as well as secure two college interns. One
